Tour overview
This 7-day gorillas and Maasai Mara combination pairs Uganda’s mountain gorillas with Kenya’s flagship reserve — the same primate-to-predator arc that makes East Africa’s northern circuit so compelling. Trek in Bwindi, then connect through Nairobi to the Maasai Mara for lion, leopard and cheetah on open grassland.
We route via domestic flights to maximise time on safari and minimise border-road fatigue. Gorilla permits must be secured months ahead; Mara camps during migration season (July–October) book equally early. See our permit guide for Uganda’s current USD 800 foreign non-resident tariff.

Fly Maasai Mara & afternoon game drive
Wilson–Mara scheduled flight (45–60 minutes). Afternoon 4×4 game drive on the Maasai Mara plains — first big-cat sightings and Mara sunset.
Safari activity | Maasai Mara game drive
Explore the Mara ecosystem on open grassland — lion, cheetah, elephant and seasonal wildebeest herds when migration herds cross from Tanzania.
Check in at your camp or lodge in the Mara Triangle, Sekenani or a private conservancy. Evening briefing on tomorrow's full-day safari schedule.

Full-day Maasai Mara safari
Dawn-to-dusk game drives with picnic breakfast. Explore river crossings (seasonal July–October), predator territories and elephant breeding herds on the open plains.
Safari activity | Full-day Mara predator tracking
Follow lion prides, cheetah on termite mounds and leopard in acacia woodland — the Mara's headline species in two extended game-drive sessions.
Return to camp for lunch and a short rest. Afternoon drive targets the Mara River zone when migration herds are present. Spotted hyena, buffalo and hippo pods in the Mara River are regular sightings. Optional hot-air balloon at dawn (supplement, USD 450+).
