What is a lodge safari?

Direct answer

Lodge safaris use permanent or semi-permanent properties inside or beside parks—Mweya Safari Lodge on the Kazinga Channel, Paraa Safari Lodge overlooking the Nile at Murchison, or forest lodges at Bwindi's four sectors—as your base for daily guided game drives and treks. This is the default Uganda model: en-suite rooms, restaurant meals, and a vehicle picking you up each morning for UWA-guided activities.

Overview

Uganda combines mountain gorilla trekking, classic savannah game viewing, chimpanzee tracking, birding, and cultural experiences in a compact circuit. The right answer depends on your dates, fitness, budget, and whether you travel with a licensed operator who handles permits, road logistics, and park regulations.
