Can I request easier gorilla group?

Yes — both UWA (Uganda) and RDB (Rwanda) accommodate fitness requests when assigning gorilla families, though allocation is final on trek morning and cannot be guaranteed. Declare mobility or fitness concerns at permit booking; Buhoma, Ruhija, and certain Volcanoes groups are known for shorter hikes. Porters (–) are strongly recommended regardless of fitness level.
