Home FAQ Gorilla trekking

How long is the briefing?

Direct answer

The UWA pre-trek briefing lasts roughly 30–45 minutes at sector headquarters. Rangers cover the 7-metre rule, health screening, what to do if a gorilla approaches, photography limits (no flash), maximum one-hour viewing, and group assignment to your habituated family. Porters are hired here (– plus tip), and walking sticks are issued before you follow trackers into the forest.

Overview

Uganda combines mountain gorilla trekking, classic savannah game viewing, chimpanzee tracking, birding, and cultural experiences in a compact circuit. The right answer depends on your dates, fitness, budget, and whether you travel with a licensed operator who handles permits, road logistics, and park regulations.
