Home FAQ Gorilla trekking

Can I cancel if unwell?

Direct answer

UWA gorilla permits are generally non-refundable once issued, but operators can sometimes reschedule to another date if you provide medical documentation and alternative permits are available — often difficult in peak season. Travel insurance covering trip interruption is strongly recommended. If rangers refuse you on trek day due to illness, the permit is typically forfeited.

Overview

Uganda combines mountain gorilla trekking, classic savannah game viewing, chimpanzee tracking, birding, and cultural experiences in a compact circuit. The right answer depends on your dates, fitness, budget, and whether you travel with a licensed operator who handles permits, road logistics, and park regulations.
