Home FAQ Gorilla trekking

Can I do 1-day gorilla trekking in Uganda?

Direct answer

Practically no from Entebbe or Kampala—Bwindi is 8–10 hours by road, so a same-day trek is impossible without already staying near the park. The only 1-day scenario is flying morning AeroLink to Kihihi or Kisoro (~0–0), trekking afternoon (rarely offered), or overnighting near the park—operators sell 2-day fly-in packages as the shortest realistic option.

Overview

Uganda combines mountain gorilla trekking, classic savannah game viewing, chimpanzee tracking, birding, and cultural experiences in a compact circuit. The right answer depends on your dates, fitness, budget, and whether you travel with a licensed operator who handles permits, road logistics, and park regulations.
