How does gorilla trekking work?

Direct answer

You present your dated, sector-specific UWA permit at the park gate for a 7:30 a.m. briefing, then hike 1–6 hours with trackers and porters until the assigned habituated family is located. Rangers allow exactly one hour of observation at 7 metres, issue a completion certificate, and you hike back—total outing typically 4–8 hours. Permits are nominative, non-transferable, and booked months ahead through UWA or licensed operators.
