This is one of the most common safari questions, and the answer depends entirely on what type of experience a traveler wants. Tanzania generally offers larger protected areas, fewer crowds, longer safari circuits, and greater wilderness. Kenya offers excellent wildlife viewing, highly developed tourism infrastructure, easier access, and some of Africa's most famous safari lodges.

Tanzania is particularly strong for the Great Migration, Ngorongoro Crater, chimpanzee trekking, Mount Kilimanjaro, and remote wilderness destinations such as Ruaha and Nyerere. Kenya excels in cultural tourism, luxury safari traditions, and iconic destinations such as the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Samburu, and Laikipia.

Neither destination is objectively better. Both rank among Africa's finest safari countries.
