What is golden monkey tracking in Rwanda?

Golden monkey tracking is a guided wildlife experience that takes place in Volcanoes National Park, where visitors hike through bamboo forests in search of habituated troops of endangered golden monkeys. Unlike gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking is generally less physically demanding and often involves shorter hikes. Once located, visitors spend time observing the monkeys as they feed, groom, play, and move through the forest. Their striking golden-orange fur and energetic behavior make them one of Rwanda's most photogenic wildlife species.
