The golden monkey (Cercopithecus mitis kandti) is an endangered subspecies of blue monkey endemic to the Albertine Rift. It is recognised by vivid golden-orange fur, a long golden tail, and sociable troop life in high-altitude bamboo forests. In Uganda, golden monkeys occur only in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
