Pick up from Entebbe or Kampala. Transfer to Bwindi by road via Mbarara (8 hours) or domestic flight to Kihihi/Kisoro airstrip (1 hr 10 min). Lodge check-in on the forest edge with views over the Bwindi canopy.

07:00 UWA ranger briefing and allocation to your habituated gorilla family. Full mountain gorilla trekking day with UWA rangers and trackers through steep montane forest.

Safari activity | Mountain gorilla trekking

Track a habituated gorilla family through Bwindi's montane forest — one hour with the group on contact, then your UWA trekking certificate on return.

One hour with mountain gorillas on contact. Return for certificate ceremony and lodge lunch. Afternoon rest — trekking is physically demanding and porters are recommended on steep, muddy trails.

Uganda gorilla permits at USD 800 (UWA). Book 3–6 months ahead for peak season (June–September, December–February).

Morning transfer to Cyanika border near Kisoro (approx. 1 hour from most Bwindi sectors). Your guide manages Uganda exit and Rwanda entry formalities at both immigration posts.

Continue to Kigali or Musanze (3–4 hours total). Optional Kigali Genocide Memorial visit if time allows before 17:00 closing.

Your choice at booking: golden monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park (RDB permit, approx. USD 100) or a full Kigali cultural day.

Breakfast and airport transfer to Kigali International Airport for your onward flight. Optional craft shopping at Kimironko market en route if departure is afternoon.

Your guide assists with check-in. End of services — Entebbe arrival, Kigali departure, no backtracking to Kampala. Cyanika border near Kisoro is the natural crossing after Bwindi.
