Home FAQ Gorilla trekking

Gorilla trekking health requirements?

Direct answer

You must be free of infectious illness on trek day — UWA and RDB will turn away trekkers with coughs, colds, or flu symptoms because gorillas are vulnerable to human respiratory diseases. Minimum age is 15 (passport verified). Moderate to good fitness is needed for 2–8 hour hikes at 1,160–2,607 m. Pregnant women are advised to consult a doctor; steep terrain and altitude make trekking physically demanding.

Overview

Uganda combines mountain gorilla trekking, classic savannah game viewing, chimpanzee tracking, birding, and cultural experiences in a compact circuit.
