Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania's most scenic and ecologically diverse protected areas. Located along the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park covers approximately 330 square kilometers, with nearly two-thirds of its area occupied by the shallow alkaline Lake Manyara. Despite being smaller than the Serengeti or Tarangire, the park supports remarkable biodiversity, ranging from dense groundwater forests and acacia woodlands to open grasslands, wetlands, and the lake itself.

Lake Manyara is particularly famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant populations, spectacular birdlife, and dramatic scenery. Because of its compact size and proximity to Arusha, it is often included in Northern Circuit itineraries and serves as an excellent introduction to Tanzania's wildlife.
